What's your idea to make Des Moines greater?
Great ideas come from all corners of a community. Some are big. Some are small. But the greatness of the Des Moines we cherish today is a culmination of thousands of initiatives and efforts that all started as simple ideas.
This is your chance to envision an idea for Greater Des Moines' future. We're canvassing the community to generate ideas that will help position Des Moines for a prosperous future.
Below you have an opportunity to submit a short 250 word idea. Our staff will review the submission and it could be featured on the website and/or in the Business Record.
If you're interested in writing a longer piece, you can let us know in the form below. Go ahead and submit a summary of your topic in the form, and our newsroom will be in contact to help guide and facilitate a more lengthy piece if appropriate.
When writing your idea, try and focus the piece on the “how” not just the “why.” In other words, don't just highlight the challenge, offer a solution. The more tangible your idea is, the more valuable and actionable the piece will end up being.
The form below is specifically for ideas. If your idea is already in the action stages and you are already working on an initiative, we of course would be interested in hearing about it and sharing it with our audience. If you're interested, please reach out to Business Record Associate Editor Emily Barkse (emilybarske@bpcdm.com) to discuss a potential story.
And finally, as you submit your idea, please consider nominating someone that might have a good idea to submit. Part of our goal with Greater is to get new and diverse voices into the mix. If you nominate someone below, they'll get a nice note from us letting them know you thought they were someone with great ideas to share.
Thanks in advance for helping to make Des Moines Greater.
